Sports teams are decided in one of two ways depending upon the sport and age group. All Youth Soccer teams are decided based upon requests made by program participants, availability of practice times, and number of teams in each age group. For YBA, the 5-7 year old age brackets are determined in the same manner as the Youth Soccer. In ages 8-14, teams are determined via a draft where players are ranked based upon ability level. This is to ensure that the teams remain as even as possible. Consideration is taken into place in requests made by parents in availability for practice and participating with friends. This is my first time registering my child for a YMCA program, do I have to worry about my child not getting a chance to participate? Every child who participates in a Youth Sport program at the Central Family YMCA must play atleast two quarters during the game, unless circumstances prevent them from doing so. Teams are limited to a certain number of players based upon on how many people are allowed on the playing surface at one particular time. |
