Youth & Government

The Youth & Government program is a High School age “Hands-on” experience in State Government. Youth & Government is an educational program that increases awareness of the governmental process and develops skills in the areas of personal development, self-esteem and leadership. There are opportunities for news reporting, writing, debating and lobbying for or against bills. The highlight of the program is a weekend long trip to Raleigh, where the students present and debate Bills in the State Legislative Building. The 2009 YMCA NC Youth Legislature Assembly will be held February 12-15, 2009.

Reynolds High School Meeting Dates: Every other Tuesday and Thursday (students may choose to come either on Tuesday or Thursday – same material covered at both meetings). Meeting Dates: 12/9, 12/11, 1/13, 1/15, 1/27, 1/29, 2/10

Mt.Tabor High School Meeting Dates: Every other Friday. 12/5, 12/19, 1/9, 1/23, 2/6

Parkland Magnet High School Meeting Dates: The 2^nd & 4^th Tuesday of every month.
